I have moved on with life and it is no longer worth my time to rent my kayaks. I will continue to post on this blog though, so feel free to use it as a reference to Utah Lake and other kayak-able water around Utah Valley.
Provo Kayak Rental (Great date idea)
I am a BYU Mechanical Engineering Grad student renting my 2 handcrafted kayaks for the Utah Lake area. They are flat-water kayaks similar to the Old Town brand "Otter."
I am asking $15/kayak per day or $10/kayak per hour when I am at the lake. This price beats all other kayak rentals in the valley!
My kayaks are easy to control and hard to flip due to their flat and wide bottom design. Also because of their wide "cabin" area there is no danger of being caught inside like some other kayaks.
Please enjoy this blog which has some great kayaking locations around Utah Lake and the lower Provo River.
Transportation: For a small fee ($10 to Utah Lake) I will transport them for you.
Insurance: I have decided this year to included an insurance plan. For $5/kayak I will wave any minor damages caused to the kayak. Minor damages include anything that does not require a major paint job to cover or affect the structural integrity of the kayak (i.e. make them weak or not water tight.)
Availability: 2 Flat-Water Kayaks
Rental includes: 1 Kayak 1 Paddle 1 Life Preserver 1 Seat Everything you will need to transport them on top of your vehicle
Kayak Specifications: Length...............9'6" Width.................28.5" Depth.................12" Weight...............30lbs and 40lbs Max Capacity........275lbs
WARNING: Lake waves can be very fun, but can be dangerous. Be aware of your abilities and always wear a life preserver. Pay careful attention to the weather. I have seen a storm turn a smooth lake to 4+ ft high waves in less than 15 minutes!
